A Bronx man was arrested and spent two nights in jail over an incident that started when an officer observed him drinking a bottle wrapped in plastic in the passenger seat of a minivan.
Brown was cradling a strawberry-kiwi fruit juice between his knees when Officer Eroilio Luna knocked on his window and gestured toward the bottle, which was wrapped in a black plastic bag.
“He says, ‘What you drinkin’?’ ” Brown recalled. He said he then peeled the wrapper away to show the officer.
Though the bottle in question was nothing but a kiwi-strawberry flavored Snapple, Brown was arrested, processed, and spent two nights in a New York City holding cell.
