ELYRIA, OH (WOIO) –

A loyal dog helps fend off an attacker Tuesday night in Elyria.

Arlee Ice was walking with her dog, Cash, around 9PM near Concord and Broad Street when she says a man grabbed her from behind.

At the time of the attack, Ice, who is six months pregnant, was listening to music while walking with her dog and was caught off guard by the punk.

She told police she warned the suspect to get away from her, and started to call her husband.  She also said she informed the thug her dog would attack him if he touched her again.

At the point, the police reports states the suspect grabbed a hold of the front of her shirt saying he away not afraid of there dog and did not care about it.

Ice says that’s when Cash bit at the suspect, knocking him to the ground and they grabbed him by the neck area.  At that time, Arlee pulled her dog away, ran from the scene and called police.

The suspect also fled the scene and has not been located at this time.

Police notified officials at Elyria’s hospital about the attack, and asked them to be on the look out for the victim of a dog bite with wounds to his neck.
