AKRON, OH (WOIO) –

Thanks for the assistance from the Summit County Sheriff’s Office, the U.S. Marshals Office Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force and the Macedonia Police Department, Kennard Gay was taken into custody without incident around 11:30AM Friday morning at a hotel in Macedonia.

26-year-old Gay, of East Avenue in Akron, was wanted for Aggravated Murder. Gay was involved in an altercation outside Kelly’s Kitchen on September 10 where he fired shots killing Melvin Coleman.

Kennard Gay was also wanted for Attempted Murder and Felonious Assault from an August 18th shooting that occurred in the 800 block of McKinley Avenue. Gay fired multiple shots at a 32-year-old male while he was inside of his car. The victim was not shot; however, the victim was cut by glass from the car window that was struck.
