Gospel singer Marvin Sapp released his first single, an emotional ballad, since the passing of his wife in 2010, after a battle with cancer. Making its world premier on a popular syndicated morning show,” Pastor Sapp entitled his newest addition to his long list of inspiring gospel classics, “My Testimony.”
“I wrote a song that, you know, really tells about what I went through and how, now that I look back over my life, over…the last 15 months, I can say, you know what, I made it through this, because I didn’t think I was going to.”
The song carries a solemn yet resounding tone as the 44-year old pastor and now single father of three, speaks of the difficulty and pain that he experienced loosing his wife and co-pastor of Lighthouse Full Life Center Church, yet not loosing his faith through the trial.
“So glad I made it. I made it through. In spite of the storm and rain, heart-ache and pain, still alive declaring that I made it through. See I didn’t loose. I experienced loss at a major cost but I never lost faith in you,” Sapp says in the first verse of “My Testimony.”
Marvin Sapp’s new CD/DVD I Win will be in stores March 13, 2012.
