19 Action News Cleveland: Cleveland Police are investigating the shooting death of a Lakewood High School senior.
The shooting happened in the area of 3950 Bosworth on the city’s west side around 3:20AM Sunday morning.
Cleveland’s police investigation revealed that the victim – Sherwon Wanzo - was at a party at a home on Bosworth when he and another 18-year-old left in a vehicle. Wanzo was sitting in the passenger seat. The vehicle stopped in the area of Linnett Avenue, about a block away, possibly to confer with another person who was on foot, when shots were fired.
Wanzo suffered a gunshot wound to the head as he sat in the vehicle. The driver drove a short distance and called for help. EMS arrived along with First District Officers. Wanzo was transported to MetroHealth Medical Center where he succumbed to his injuries at around 5:30AM.
