The Cleveland Police Department is confirming an officer was shot on the west side of Cleveland late Thursday evening.
Cleveland Police say it happened around 11:20pm in the area of West 52nd and Detroit Avenue. The officer was taken to Metrohealth Medical Center.
The identity and condition of the officer are not being released at this time.
