Pinkett-Smith testified before the Senate Foreign Relations Committee that she plans to launch a campaign to raise awareness to a growing epidemic.

The hearing was called to discuss tools to combat trafficking over the next decade.

The actress credited her 11-year-old daughter, Willow, who also accompanied her, with bringing the issue to her attention.

She said human slavery “robs us of the thing we value most, our freedom.”
