At least seven people are dead and several injured after a shooting at a Sikh temple outside of Milwaukee SUNDAY.

FBI investigators believe that the gunman in the deadly Wisconsin Sikh temple shooting acted alone—and classified it as domestic terrorism based in part on the messages tattooed on his body, said sources.

The shooter has been identified as Wade Michael Page, seen below. We’ve learned he had been discharged from the US Army, sources told NBC and the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.

He was shot dead by a cop after he opened fire SUNDAY morning inside the Oak Creek temple, killing six people and critically injuring three others, including another police officer, who is expected to live.

The gunman’s 9mm semi-automatic handgun was recovered at the scene. The shooter, believed to be in his early 40s, reportedly rented an apartment in the area just over a month ago.

Besides the tattoos, certain “biographical details” convinced authorities that the shooting was domestic terrorism, a source told the Los Angeles Times.

A domestic terrorism label indicates a political agenda, according to law enforcement authorities, but sources said the gunman didn’t appear to be connected to a hate organization or to a terrorist group.

Officially, the FBI was offering few details of the case.

President Obama said he was “deeply saddened” by the violence.
