CLEVELAND – Two men were shot and one is dead after a shooting on Cleveland’s east side Monday night.
At 8:40 p.m., police were dispatched to the area near East 156th and Damon Avenue for shots fired. There they found a victim with multiple gunshot wounds to the upper torso. The 20-year-old was taken to MetroHealth Medical Center where he died from his injuries, police said.
A second 20-year-old victim with a gunshot wound to the arm was brought to Euclid General Hospital where he was being treated.
Cleveland police said their preliminary investigation shows that three men with guns chased the victims, then fired multiple shots at them before fleeing the scene.
Next of kin notifications have not yet been made.
The Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner’s Office will determine the official cause of death.
