CLEVELAND – “Captain America: Winter Soldier” will be filmed in Cleveland this spring and the city has now announced the areas where the action will take place.

One of the main road closures will be Cleveland’s West Shoreway, which will be shutdown for filming eastbound and westbound from Lake Avenue to East 9th Street from May 29 through June 14.

Movie crews will also be downtown, causing closures primarily between May 18 and June 14.

Here is a list of all of the locations where the Marvel movie, filming from May 18 until June 28, will set up and where/when roads will be closed.

May 18-26

Rockwell Ave. between E. 9th St. and West Mall Drive

– Alternate route: Superior Ave.

– Other info: A lane will be maintained for parking garage access between E. 9th & E. 6th Streets.

E. 6th St. between Superior Ave. and St. Clair Ave.

– Alternate route: E. 9th St. E. 6th St at Theresa Ct.

– Other info: E. 6th St at Theresa Ct., ABM Lot closed from May 18 – May 23

May 20

E. 6th St. between Superior Ave. and Euclid Ave.

– Alternate route: Intermittent traffic control

– More info: A lane will be maintained for access to the 515 Euclid garage. Garages at Vincent Ave. have access via E. 9th St.

May 23

E. 6th St. between St. Clair Ave. and Lakeside Ave.

– Alternate route: E. 9th St.

– More info: Access to parking garages will be maintained

Lakeside Ave. between E. 9th St. and East Mall Drive

– Alternate route: Intermittent traffic control

– More info: Access to parking garages will be maintained.

May 24-25

Euclid Ave. between E.6th and E.18th St

– Alternate route: Superior Ave.

– More info: Buses will be re-routed to Prospect.

E. 9th St. between Chester Ave. and Bolivar Ave.

– Alternate route: E. 18th St.

Prospect Ave between Ontario and E. 18th St.

– Alternate route: Open for car traffic

– More info: No parking on this street to allow for the rerouting of buses from Euclid Avenue.

May 26

Huron Rd. between Ontario Ave. and Prospect Ave.

– Alternate route: Carnegie Ave.

May 28-June 1

Prospect Ave. between E.4th St. and Bolivar Ave., E. 9th St. between Chester Ave. and Bolivar Ave., Huron Rd. between Ontario Ave. and Prospect Ave.

May 29-June 14

West Shoreway between Lake Ave. and E. 9th St.

W.3rd St. between Alfred Lerner Way and St. Clair Ave.

– Alternate route: East 9th St.

The city said updates on “Captain America” traffic advisories can be followed by checking #CLECaptTraffic and some closures may also affect RTA customers.

Marvel’s “The Avengers” used Cleveland as a backdrop in the summer of 2011, closing down a section of East 9th Street for nearly a month.
