CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) –

Flats East Bank developers and local officials celebrated the grand opening of Aloft Cleveland Downtown with a ribbon cutting ceremony on Thursday.

Iris and Scott Wolstein, Adam Fishman, Mayor Frank Jackson, County Executive Ed Fitzgerald, Councilman Joe Cimperman and project tenants played host to opening Cleveland’s new hotel.

The Starwood hotel includes 150 rooms and 4,000 square-feet of meeting and social space.  A walkway connects it to the Ernst & Young Tower.

Developers say this is part of the first phase of the Flats East Bank project.  Willeyville, Lago and Ken Stewart’s restaurants are scheduled to open this summer.
