EAST CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) –

An RTA bus driver is recovering after being punched at the end of his shift.

The attack happened around 12:30 a-m Thursday at the Windermere Rapid Station in East Cleveland.

RTA union officials say driver Glen Wilson was off-duty when he approached a group of people who were smoking in a non-smoking area in the parking lot.

Words were exchanged and the driver was punched.

Wilson was taken to a local hospital with non life-threatening injuries.

The incident remains under investigation. Part of that investigation involves pulling and analyzing any video from the area.
