CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) –

A student was slashed at a Catholic high school in Cleveland on Thursday morning.

Officials confirm the attack happened at Villa Angela-St. Joseph High School on Lakeshore Boulevard around 10 a.m.

19 Action News has learned a 14-year-old boy was attacked with a razor blade in the school’s bathroom.

The boy was cut on the leg. He was treated at a local hospital and taken back to class.

The school’s president, Richard Osborne, released the following statement:

“There was an incident in the restroom today (Thursday) in which a student received a minor injury.  The student is in class, the school is open and we’re working to determine the details.”

Cleveland Police Officers responded to the school and are investigating.
