Big Innerbelt changes will begin overnight Thursday.

“We’re going to start this work a day early, and the expected rain is part of the reason.  Some of the work that we have to do is weather sensitive,” said Jocelynn Clemings, ODOT spokesperson.

The ramp from the Jennings Freeway to I-71 North will close, which could cause a headache for some drivers.

“For Friday morning’s rush hour, you want to be sure to use I-490 to 77.  Same thing for people coming in on I-71,” said Clemings.

The big changes begin overnight Friday, when I-90 East will close between I-490 and I-77, from 8 p.m. to 10 a.m Saturday morning.

“For those folks coming in from the West Side, like Rocky River and Lakewood, you want to opt for the alternate route, because I-90 will go down to 2 lanes.  Go I-490 to

I-77 as an alternate,” said Clemings.
