Power-Outage

High winds and freezing temperatures have led to scattered power outages across Northeast Ohio Monday night.

As of 5 a.m., FirstEnergy reported 16,667 customers without power.

At that time there were 15, 401 without power in Cuyahoga County.

Over 3,000 customers in Beachwood are affected. About 2,500 in Richmond Heights and South Euclid are also affected by power outages.

FirstEnergy says they hope to power restored to most customer by 6:15 a.m., however other customers in the area may take longer.

A spokesperson says the outage is due to a failed transmission line.
