The Cleveland Indians Chief Wahoo logo has been demoted as the primary logo of the team in favor of the block-C logo, according to a tweet via Paul Lukas of ESPN and shared on the SportsLogos.Net website.

Reports say Chief Wahoo will remain on the jersey sleeves and primary home caps of players but this is another example of what appears to be the Indians slowing phasing out the existence of the controversial logo.

The Indians have been using the block-C logo more and more. It is on their batting helmets for both home and away games and is prominently displayed at the team’s spring training facilities in Goodyear, Arizona.

According to SportsLogos, the Indians are denying any logo change.
