Rape Game ‘Rapelay’ Gets Viral Online

Rapelay was yanked off store shelves worldwide, but it went from banned to worse: It’s viral online.

Rapelay is a role playing game, which begins by letting a player choose a method of assault on a teenage girl at a subway. Gamers can grope her and lift her skirt. Players molest the girl, and even assault and rape her sister and mother. The ultimate goal of the game: to make the three women sex slaves, so the player can rape them whenever he desires to. When a girl gets pregnant, players have to force her to have an abortion.

Despite the international ban, the game is shared viral online where it’s available for everyone.

It only took me a simple search on Google to find several Web sites where the game is available for download often for free.

International womens right groups are urging the Japanese government to police game makers who produce these ‘Hentai’ games. They’re Japanese roleplay games that stimulate sexual violence, torture, and rape of women.

There’s a lot of online talk about games like Rapelay.

YouTube commenter Charles Rigler said in his video: “We’re basically cultivating a culture of couch-potato sex predators.”

But ‘Harlysopinion,’ another YouTube commenter, thinks the game shouldn’t have been banned: ‘It’s not that bad. I mean, I know the object of the game is something terrible, but when you actually see the game, it’s not as bad as you think,” she said.

Internet experts say trying to control this type of content on the internet is hard, which means it’s up to parents.

Young Boy Banned From Local Library

LORAIN, OH (WOIO) – Did the library stomp on the civil rights of a seven-year-old boy because of a medical condition he can’t help?

His family thinks so and is now outraged.

The boy has tourettes and his story could break new legal ground and actually set a legal precedent.

Seven-year old Patrick Quillen suffers from tourettes, a neurological disorder that in its mild stages seen here causes people to sometimes make loud clicking noises.

Patrick’s clicks caused problems Wednesday while he was in this library on a computer.

“I wish I was normal,” Patrick Quillen.

Now people with tourettes are protected by the Americans with Disabilities Act.

“This library is a public building and according to the Americans with Disabilities Act disabled Americans cannot be denied access to these places and if they are well then their civil rights might be violated.”

So question now is did personnel here tell Patrick and his mother they had to leave the library?

“I left willingly.”

Patrick’s mother says a librarian here told her son he could not use the computer because his clicks were too disruptive for the other kids.

“I was making my neurological “tick” noise and I was told I have to get kicked off the computer.”

Obama Says He’s “Evolving” On Homosexual Marriage “He Understands”

President Barack Obama told a group of liberal bloggers Wednesday that his views on same-sex marriage, which he has previously opposed, are evolving and that society is moving in the direction of granting marriage rights to same-sex couples.

“I have been to this point unwilling to sign on to same-sex marriage primarily because of my understandings of the traditional definitions of marriage. But I also think you’re right that attitudes evolve, including mine,” Obama said in response to a question fromJoe Subday of Americablog.

“I think that it is an issue that I wrestle with and think about because I have a whole host of friends who are in gay partnerships. I have staff members who are in committed, monogamous relationships, who are raising children, who are wonderful parents. And I care about them deeply,” Obama continued. “And so while I’m not prepared to reverse myself here, sitting in the Roosevelt Room at 3:30 in the afternoon, I think it’s fair to say that it’s something that I think a lot about. That’s probably the best you’ll do out of me today.”

Later, Obama seemed to suggest that legalization of gay marriage is inevitable. “The one thing I will say today is I think it’s pretty clear where the trendlines are going,” he added.

Gay rights activists, many of whom have been deeply disappointed in Obama for failing thus far to repeal “don’t ask, don’t tell” and the Defense of Marriage Act–and for continuing to defend those laws in the courts, were heartened by Obama’s comments. Some said Obama seemed to be laying the groundwork to change his position on same-sex marriage before a likely re-election campaign in 2012.

“Presidents don’t usually think out loud unless they intend to send a signal that they are shifting a position,” said Richard Socarides, a former adviser to President Bill Clinton on gay issues. “I think [Obama] realizes he can’t run as a gay rights advocate in 2012 and be against marriage equality. People see domestic partnerships are separate but equal.”

Ben Smith notes that Obama seems to be evolving back towards a position he held in 1996.

Wal-Mart Denies Banning Kanye West’s Controversial Album Cover

Though Kanye West implied that Wal-Mart was behind the banning of his My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy album cover, the retail chain has a different story.

Entertainment Weekly decided to reach out to Wal-Mart headquarters to get their side of the story and found that Wal-Mart officials hadn’t even seen the controversial artwork.

“We’re excited about Kanye West’s new album and we look forward to carrying it in our stores on November 22nd,” a Walmart spokesperson says in a statement provided to EW. “As always, it’s our standard practice to carry the edited parental advisory version. We did not reject the cover artwork and it was never presented to us to view.”

Just goes to prove our theory correct that the controversy surrounding this album cover exists only in Kanye’s head, and maybe in a conference room at Def Jam headquarters.

“Hurt Locker” Producer Banned From Oscars

A producer for Oscar-nominated war film The Hurt Locker will not be allowed to attend the awards ceremony after breaking Academy rules.

Nicolas Chartier has been barred from the event after sending an e-mail to voters urging them to name his movie as best film over rival Avatar.

Academy rules prohibit the mailing of members to promote or disparage a film.

But should The Hurt Locker win best picture, Chartier will still receive his Oscar statuette at a later date.

In his email, which was sent to members of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences in late February, Chartier asked members to choose The Hurt Locker over what he described as “a $500 million film” – a clear reference to fellow best picture contender Avatar.

Subsequent emails, posted by the Los Angeles Times, showed Chartier asking Oscar voters to rank his film at number one and Avatar at number 10 among the list of nominated films.
