A Winter Storm Warning is in effect until 10 PM for all but the far western counties of the viewing area. The snow will be heavy at times throughout this morning and several quick inches of additional accumulation is likely. This system will move very slowly to the Northeast later today. Windy conditions and the wet snow could lead to power outages.

CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) – The following are snow parking bans that have been issued during this week’s winter storm March 10-12th:

•The City of Lorain has issued a City wide emergency snow ban. Parking is not permitted on any city street effective 7:00PM Thursday March 10, 2011 until 7:00 PM Friday March 11, 2011. The ban will take effect in the Business district after normal business hours. Violators will be ticketed or towed.

We’ll continue to deal with flooding concerns today before turning our attention to a major snow storm that will affect the region beginning Thursday night and lasting through Saturday morning.  Heavier rain will develop this afternoon.  The rain changes to snow Thursday night.  Expect the possibility of a major snow event developing.

THURSDAY:  More showers with heavier rain developing during the afternoon.  Temperatures falling through the 40s.  Wind: South-NW at 5-10 mph.

SAN FRANCISCO — Hilly areas of San Francisco got a rare light dusting of snow, the National Weather Service said Saturday.
