A quick-thinking bus driver is being hailed a hero.
Bus driver Saharah Hill’s routine morning route changed dramatically in a heartbeat.
“I looked up into my mirror and saw Diamond Harris, she was struggling from her seat,” Saharah Hill.
Nine-year-old Diamond Harris was on the bus on her way to Warner Girl Leadership Academy when she started to choke on a peppermint. Hill put the bus in park, radioed for help, and instinctively began the Heimlich Maneuver.
“I just knew from my experiences that this is what I need to do, didn’t second guess it, I just reacted,” Saharah Hill.
