Police say none of the shootings are related

CLEVELAND, Ohio – Cleveland Police had a busy Saturday night and early Sunday morning after three separate shootings occurred, leaving one man dead and others injured.

The first shooting happened around 8pm in the 2500 block of East 109th Street . Upon arrival to the scene officers found the victim, 21-year-old Andell Johnson, was shot in the right leg.

Officers were told that Johnson’s mother called her landlord asking to have her two sons leave the property. The landlord responded to the address in company with a male suspect. The suspect and Johnson began to argue outside of the residence and the suspect shot Johnson in the leg.

The suspect and the landlord then fled the scene in a black automobile.

Johnson was taken to MetroHealth Medical Center by EMS, where he is being treated for his injuries.

The second shooting happened around 9pm in the 5900 block of Superior Avenue when 32-year-old Dante Abrams and 31-year-old Anthony Jordan, both of Cleveland, were robbed.

Jordan told police they were walking westbound on Superior when they heard several shots fired in the area and started to run. They looked behind them they saw a male suspect running towards them with a revolver in his hand. Abrams and Jordan continued to run until the suspect began yelling at them to hand over any valuables. When Abrams took his money out of his pocket the suspect shot Abrams twice in the face.

Abrams was taken to MetroHealth Medical center where he is currently being treated for gunshot wounds to the left side of his head and lower right side of his chin.
