CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) –

Cleveland Police tell 19 Action News that a 19-year-old was shot in plain sight outside of a Wendy’s fast food restaurant Saturday.

The shooting happened around 11:52 a.m. at 3735 W.25th Street at Wendy’s. Police received a call from EMS that they were transporting a 19-year-old black male with a gunshot wound to the upper torso to MetroHealth Medical Center.

While on scene, officers received information that the victim was standing with a group of black males when an unknown white male shot him. Witnesses were uncooperative and there is nothing further at this time.

Police identified the victim as Willie Hodges, age 19.

The suspect was described only as a white male.

This investigation is being handled by the Second District Detective Bureau.
