While talking with the Rev. Al Sharpton about politics on ‘The Daily Show,’ Jon Stewart marveled at the possibility of Herman Cain winning the Republican nomination: “The idea of a possible presidential race, two African Americans squaring off against each other, has to feel like an achievement for people who worked in the civil rights movement.”
Sharpton agreed with that sentiment, but then added one of his trademark zingers: “Cain is Southern black, no inter-racial parents and I wouldn’t support Cain if he was running against a white guy.”
Cain recently polled ahead of Mitt Romney in Iowa, following successful polls in South Carolina and Florida.
