As Jay-Z waits patiently for his newborn to arrive, the rap mogul was ordered to pay $18,000 by a New York court after he was sued for letting his employees’ insurance lapse.
The rapper was sued by the Workers Compensation Board of New York for $18k. He was accused of not having the proper insurance for his domestic help (includes cooks, maids, drivers) for 3 months back in 2009.
A court ruled in favor of the Workers Compensation Board of New York and ordered Jay to fork over the cash, for not having the proper insurance.
But Jay-Z’s people disputed the fine and claimed that he did have the right insurance.
