CLEVELAND – The Transportation Security Administration has awarded The Greater Cleveland Regional Transit Authority a ‘Gold Standard’ rating.
Regional Transit Authority is one of the 16 mass transit agencies throughout the country to be awarded the Transportation Security Administration’s highest rating for its dedication to building a strong security program.
The award was given under the BASE program, according to TSA, and is designed to establish a security standard for individual system security programs and assess progress. The comprehensive review of transit agency security programs focused on multiple categories identified by the transit community as fundamentals for a sound transit security programs. The assessment also identified vulnerabilities that the transit system addresses.
