CLEVELAND – The Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner’s office said the body found in a field Tuesday on the city’s east side has been identified as Ashley Leszyeski, the woman reported missing more than three weeks ago.

Leszyeski was last seen on May 3 in the area of Heath Avenue. The 22-year-old’s body was found the morning of May 28 on East 93rd Street and Anderson Avenue by someone trimming brush. Officials identified her severely decomposed body using dental records.

On Wednesday, her family went to the medical examiner’s office to provide DNA for testing, but it was not used.

The medical examiner’s office said the cause and manner of death has not been determined. According to a police report, the body was missing a hand and her face appeared to be burned.

Ashley’s sister, Tina, told Newschannel5′s Josh Boose they are “disgusted” and devastated” by the news. She said the family will comment more at a later time.

Leszyeski leaves behind two children. Her sister Tina said she was “disgusted and devastated” by the news.

The 22-year-old’s body was found in the same area where, on March 24, Jazmine Trotter, 20, was found beaten to death under an abandoned home. Police also found 45-year-old Christine Malone dead in a field near Bessemer only days after Trotter’s murder.

One person was arrested for the murder of Trotter but recently had the charge dropped. The man remains behind bars in the Cuyahoga County Jail on unrelated drug charges.

On March 30, a victim escaped her attacker on East 116th Street while waiting for the bus.
