Harlem resident Starkeema Greenidge is reportedly suing MAC cosmetics, claiming she received herpes from a Rihanna-endorsed lipstick while attending the singer’s concert at the Barclays Center on May 7.

Greenidge filed the suit Monday in Manhattan Supreme Court, according to the New York Daily News. She claims she contracted herpes from a lipstick sample applied to her lips by MAC Cosmetics representative at a popup shore outside The Barclays. Rihanna inked a deal with the company for her own lipstick in February.

The suit alleges that the employee applying the lipstick told her to “press her lips together and spread the lipstick around. (MAC) didn’t use a fresh or new lipstick tube, but rather one that had been used for other patrons.”

According to the suit, MAC “should have known . . . it was unsanitary and exposing patrons to possible spread of disease.”

Greenidge claims she developed a cold sore on her lip two days later. Doctors then diagnosed her with herpes. She is seeking compensation for “mental anguish and emotional distress” incurred by the incident.

“I wasn’t able to work for two weeks. It cost me a lot of money,” Greenidge told the Daily News

MAC officials refused to comment on the proceedings.
