A man who lost a card game opened fire, killing one of his fellow players on Clevelands east side, police said.

The shooting happened at about 6:40 p.m. Wednesday in the 600 block of E. 117th Street.

Cleveland police said they were told that four men were sitting on a porch playing cards. When one man lost, he walked off the porch, pulled out a handgun and fired several shots at the group.

Ryan Patrick Heard, 22, of Cleveland Heights, was hit several times in the chest, arm and leg and was pronounced dead at the scene.
