CLEVELAND, Ohio — Sewer district officials lifted a swim advisory at Edgewater Park this evening, almost two days after rain caused untreated sewage to flood into Lake Erie.
Heavy rains caused an estimated 85,000 gallons of raw sewage and rainwater to overflow out of a storm water pipe near the beach Monday night, said Jeannie Chapman, a spokeswoman for the Northeast Ohio Regional Sewer District. Water from the lake at the beach tested clean today.
