NBC News is reporting that prosecutors are closer than ever to a plea deal with Ariel Castro. That deal, which he is currently expected to accept, is life without parole plus 1,000 years.
Sources involved in the investigation tell NBC NEWS that the terms of the deal are likely to become public at tomorrow’s 10 a.m. court hearing.
The deal would allow Castro to avoid the death penalty and spare his three victims the trauma of a long trial.
Earlier, the Investigator Tom Meyer confirmed that a plea deal had been offered in the case against Ariel Castro and that he is due in court Friday.
Castro is said to be considering the deal but nothing has been finalized.
