Fire Chief Daryl McGinnis has been relieved of his duties for not completing the required number of training hours, according to a statement by the mayor’s office Thursday.
Cleveland Mayor Frank Jackson ordered an internal audit Thursday of all certification records for all employees in the department.
The audit was ordered after a review found Daryl McGinnis only had 22 hours of training documented from 2009 to 2012 prior to completing EMT re-certification last year.
The state requires 40 hours.
