As Antoinette Tuff awaited her appearance on CNN’s “Anderson Cooper 360” last night to discuss her heroic efforts in thwarting a would-be killer, she got a call on her cell phone from the President of the United States.

President Obama that’s really you,” she recalled telling the president during her interview with Cooper.

Tuff was in the main office of Ronald E. McNair Discovery Learning Center in Decatur, Ga when a gunman,Michael Brandon Hill, entered the room and fired one round into the ground. He went on to exchange gunfire with police, but Tuff was able to talk Hill out of carrying out his intended shooting rampage and surrender to authorities.
