UPDATE 10:01 a.m. EST, 9/12/13: In an interview with Billboard, Mister Cee explained late Wednesday night why he decided to resign from Hot 97 FM:

The main reason why I resigned is because there was a video that was released today that kind of implied that I was making a transaction with a transsexual, which is not true, by the way.  If you watch the video, you don’t see my face, you don’t see that person’s face. So for me, it was really about stepping down for the sake of the station. It got to the point where my transgressions and my mistakes were affecting the station, whether it was affecting the station’s income, whether it was affecting certain clients that wanted to buy time during my hour and felt like they didn’t want to stand next to the brand because I was on the air at that time. To that point, instead of them telling me, ‘We’re gonna have to let you go,’ I just felt like the best thing to do was for me to step down because it’s obvious that whatever mistakes and transgression I’ve made, whatever’s being put out there is being put out there for the fact that I’m on radio.

To me, it’s almost like the Anthony Weiner thing, Mister Cee said. You step forward, you admit to what you are capable of and what you are doing. I went on the air in May and said, ‘Listen, I love prostitutes and I love strippers, this is my thing, but I am not gay.’ My case got dismissed this Monday, which nobody talked about, wasn’t in the paper, nobody talked about it, nobody leaked that story and then two, three days later, this happened. So once again, it’s like the Anthony Weiner situation whereas something is gonna continue coming up because it’s obvious that there are people out there who don’t have my interest at heart and don’t have Hot 97’s interest at heart.”

UPDATE 9:08 p.m. EST, 9/11/2013: Mister Cee publicly contemplated suicide on Twitter in the wake of his abrupt resignation from HOT 97 FM:

————————————————————————————————————–

Popular New York City radio personality, Calvin LeBrun, aka Mister Cee, took to the airwaves Wednesday to announce his resignation from HOT 97 FM, the city’s number one hip hop station. LeBrun, who has been busted for public sexual trysts in the past, is leaving on the heels of scandalous audio allegedly implicating him soliciting a transsexual for $100, according to Complex Music.

LeBrun was busted back in March 2011 after New York’s finest caught him in an alleged oral sexual act with another man. In May, LeBrun was cuffed again after he reportedly solicited an undercover policeman posing as a prostitute. He discussed the arrest on his radio show, contending the undercover officer was a female and not a male.

In the latest scandal, a transsexual prostitute going by the name of Bimbo Winehouse (pictured) posted a YouTube video that allegedly records LeBrun offering her $100 for oral sex. At the end of the video, Winehouse is clearly heard mentioning Mr. Cee by name. The person with whom Winehouse is speaking does not deny being the famous DJ.

LeBrun made his announcement today and did not negate the fact that he has indulged in “tricking” and how that was “his thing.” In his final radio broadcast, LeBrun also went on to state:

“It is not a mystery that the past two years I’ve been through a lot. When you dealing with corporate America, and you dealing with a station you love as much as I love this station, you don’t want to put them through this…I’ve been thinking about this day for a long time. I never want to be in a situation where I’m pushed out. I’ve been at this station for 20 years, since 1993. If I want to go out, allow me to say I’m going out. And the station is allowing me to have that, and I appreciate that.”

LeBrun then stated how he is not infallible. “Ain’t nobody perfect man,” he said. “And I’m far from perfect. I’ve made my mistakes, but when it affects the people that you love, the people that you come up with…I’m just gonna move on.”

As far as the validity of the video, LeBrun has not publicly confirmed or denied its authenticity.

Meanwhile, HOT 97 issued the following statement regarding LeBrun’s resignation:

“Due to some personal circumstances that have become public, after 20 years of service, Mr. Cee has chosen to resign. We feel that this is in the best interest of both HOT 97 and Cee’s personal well-being. While we do not endorse the alleged activities, he is clearly facing a personal dilemma that is for him and only him to comment on. We are saddened by his departure; his contributions here at HOT 97 were great and we know him as a friend, a caring individual and significant hip hop advocate. We wish Mr. Cee the best and will always consider him a family member of HOT 97. Moments ago, he officially signed off, on the air and will finish out his last show today on September 11, 2013, an already sad day for New York City.”
