Omarosa Manigault, the political consultant-turned-ordained minister, believes people should give the new Oxygen docu-series “Preachers of L.A.,” a chance.
Manigault, 39, first became popular on the first season of Donald Trump’s “The Apprentice,” where she embraced her role as a brash businesswoman in the boardroom. While a number of Christian leaders have spoken out against “Preachers of L.A.,” Manigault said the show may be a good thing.
“I think people should give it a chance – they’re trying to pull it before you see the whole story,” Manigault told thejasminebrand.com recently. “The fact that people are talking about church – I’m talking about folks who ain’t never come to church – my good friends who never been in my sanctuary are talking about pastors, and talking about religion. It’s good.”
The minister and reality television personality spoke about how the show is bringing attention to Christianity in an unconventional way.
“Any time that you can get people thinking about ministry, thinking about their relationship with God and thinking about salvation, it’s good. Now whether it’s controversy – that’s for people to decide themselves,” she told thejasminebrand.com. “It’s entertainment but we are talking about religion, and that trust me – I’ve been in ministry for six years and it’s very difficult to get people to do that.”
