The Kent State University campus lockdown has been lifted campus wide.
A Kent State spokesperson says the suspect has been arrested.
Another press conference from the university is expected Thursday morning.
The school was locked down for nearly two hours Wednesday evening after a report of someone firing a single shot into the ground.
No one was injured, according to a spokesman, and police were looking for a black male wearing basketball shorts and carrying a silver handgun.
The shot was fired near Bowman Hall.
