(HOUSTON) — A Houston woman was stabbed to death, and police say her husband — who is reportedly a singer from a 90s R&B band – is facing a murder charge.

Russell Neal walked into a Houston Police Department station downtown around 6 p.m. Wednesday and said his wife was dead, police said.

HPD officers went their home at the Cedar Creek Townhomes onTanglewilde at Windswept on the west side. They had to get help from firefighters to force their way inside.

Police said they found the body of 34-year-old Catherine Martinez on the living room floor with what appeared to be blunt force trauma to the head and multiple stab wounds.

Neal, 40, told police that their children were with a family member. He reportedly admitted arguing with his wife.
