Five Things To Know For Your New Day – Tuesday, November 4, 2014

1. ELECTION DAY
Go vote: There’s a lot on the line today – 435 House seats, 36 governors’ races and party control of the Senate. Though Republicans appear on track to take the Senate majority, polls can be wrong and might miss important shifts during the final hours of the election.
2. UTAH POLICE SHOOTING
Another contentious shooting: To hear prosecutors tell it, Darrien Hunt lunged at officers with a “samurai-type sword” before he was killed. To hear his family tell it, police shot the 22-year-old several times while he was running away. An independent autopsy proves he was shot from behind, his family’s attorney said. But the Utah County Attorney’s Office has ruled the shooting justified.
3. BIN LADEN DEATH
Seal it, SEALs: The head of Naval Warfare Special Command had warned Navy SEALs against betraying their promise to maintain secrecy just days ahead of a SEAL’s “60 Minutes” interview defending his publication of details from the Osama bin Laden mission. The admonition is seemingly directed both at Matt Bissonnette – who revealed his role on the 2011 bin Laden mission with “60 Minutes” on Sunday – and at a SEAL at the center of an upcoming Fox News documentary.
