Five Ohio athletes, one Ohio coach and one Ohio team were all recognized at the 2015 ESPY Awards.

LeBron James was nominated for three awards. He took home the award for Best Championship Performance. James was the first player in NBA history to lead both teams in the NBA Finals in points, rebounds and assists. The Golden State Warriors’ Stephen Curry took home awards for Best NBA Player and Best Male Athlete, over James.

Former Mount St. Joseph basketball player Lauren Hill was awarded for Best Moment. Her parents accepted the award in her honor. Hill died of brain cancer in April.

Ohio State Football was nominated for Best Team, but the award went to the U.S. Women’s National Soccer Team.

Ohio State Football Head Coach Urban Meyer was nominated for Best Coach/Manager. The award went to Steve Kerr, Head Coach of the Golden State Warriors.
