Stomach Bug Strikes Hundreds Aboard British Cruise Ship:

More than 200 passengers on a British cruise ship have fallen ill with the gastrointestinal condition norovirus, the CDC reported.

The CDC said 252 of 919 passengers — 27% — have gotten sick on the Balmoral, a ship operated by Fred Olsen Cruises and most recently docked in Maine. Eight of 520 crew members have come down with norovirus, the CDC said.
CDC employees boarded the ship when it arrived in Baltimore April 30 to conduct an environmental health assessment, the agency reported on its website. Specimens obtained by the CDC confirmed the existence of norovirus.

It’s deadline day for North Carolina Gov. Pat McCrory.

The U.S. Justice Department sent his office a letter Wednesday claiming that the state’s controversial bathroom law is in violation of the Civil Rights Act.
They gave the Republican leader until the end of the business day Monday to respond with a solution to “remedy the situation.”
McCrory says what he chooses to do at that deadline goes beyond the Tar Heel state — it will affect the majority of Americans.
“This is no longer just a North Carolina issue,” he said in a Fox News interview on Sunday. “This is a basic change of norms that we’ve used for decades throughout the United States of America and the Obama administration is now trying to change that norm — again not just in North Carolina, but they’re ordering this to every company in the United States of America — starting tomorrow I assume, or Tuesday.”

Directors Anthony and Joe Russo will also be at the helm of the next two “Avengers” movies — Infinity War 1 and 2, which are slated to come out in 2018 and 2019.

The United States Military Academy at West Point, N.Y. has launched an inquiry into an image shared on social media that shows 16 black, female cadets in uniform with their fists raised. The image has sparked questions about whether it violates restrictions on political activity.

Black West Point Cadets Under Scrutiny For Raised Fists In Photo:

It’s a time-honored tradition at the U.S. Military Academy in West Point, New York — graduating seniors in small groups don their ceremonial high-collared uniforms and pose for a photo in front of historic Nininger Hall.

Their poses are typically stern and stoic, mimicking sepia-toned editions that date back to the 1800s.
They do not typically raise a clenched fist in the air.
So when a photo of 16 female, African-American cadets making the gesture was posted online last month, it raised eyebrows at the elite training academy, which produces many of the nation’s future military leaders.
