When The Cleveland Cavaliers won the 2016 NBA Championship the other night a culmination of anomalies and prophecies occurred.

Never in the history of the NBA has a team overcome a 3 to 1 deficit to win a championship.

A first place team whom only back in January fired their head coach that had lead them to the championship stage just a year prior. only to hire an assistant coach to lead them.

A curse that has seemingly plagued The City of Cleveland for 52 years, was lifted by one that was born and raised just 40 miles south in Cleveland’s step sister, what some call little Akron.

A man that although his decision to leave broke Cleveland’s heart, it was a necessary decision for his growth. A man that although he moved his career to Miami, “HOME”, was still in Northeast Ohio. A man that understood that the city of Cleveland may have been upset with him, yet still continued to help those from which he came.

A promise from a man whose circumstances in life could have lead him down a different path, but his destiny was chosen by GRACE to be a leader of epic proportion. A leader not only in sports, but in community and education. A man that for-filled a promise that no matter what, to NEVER forget where he came from and to take all that believe with him.

LeBron James

Without any sleep Monday afternoon LeBron James addressed fans when getting off the plane then paraded the NBA Championship Trophy for thousands that were there to see. But when on his final destination for the day, to the place he calls home, in a suburb of Akron, hundreds lined his residential street. As his limo passed the people, he had the driver stop the vehicle half way to his home. He wanted to thank those who knew that he never really left them while affectionately letting them know publicly who he really was. Which was… Just A Kid From Akron
