Was Dallas Cop Killer Micah Johnson Radicalized Online?:
The message was clear. One day before Dallas police officers were gunned down, the African American Defense League was telling anyone reading its Facebook page it was time to act.
The message delivered at 9:47 a.m. Wednesday came after news broke of yet another killing of a black man by a white police officer. Philando Castile was killed in the front seat of his car after being pulled over for a broken taillight outside Minneapolis.
The message from the African American Defense League left little up for interpretation.
“The Pig has shot and killed Alton Sterling in Baton Rouge, Louisiana!: You and I know what we must do and I don’t mean marching, making a lot of noise, or attending conventions. We must “Rally The Troops!” It is time to visit Louisiana and hold a barbeque. The highlight of our occasion will be to sprinkle Pigs Blood!”

Obama On Dallas: ‘Vicious, Calculated, Despicable Attack On Law Enforcement’:
President Barack Obama said Friday that the nation was “horrified” after what he called “a vicious, calculated and despicable attack on law enforcement” in Dallas.
The White House announced Friday evening that the President would cut short his European trip by one day and visit Dallas early next week.
It was the second somber statement about shootings on American soil the President made from Europe in less than 12 hours. He condemned the recent shootings by police of black men in Minnesota and Louisiana shortly after arriving in Europe and made a broad diagnosis of American racial imbalance. Hours later, after chaos erupted in Dallas and fivepolice officers were killed in sniper shootings that began during protests stemming from the Minnesota and Louisiana shootings, he promised justice.
‘The Secret Life of Pets’ Fetches Huge Box Office Weekend:
“The Secret Life of Pets” brought in one of the most surprising box offices of the year this weekend, nabbing an estimated $103.2 million at the North American box office.
The Universal and Illumination Entertainment animated film, which gives a glimpse into what pets do when their owners aren’t around, vastly exceeded industry predictions that it would open to about $60 million.
“Pets” now stands as the sixth biggest animated opening of all time. It’s also the biggest opening weekend ever for an original film that’s not a sequel, a remake or based on a book.
The film, which includes voice work by Louis C.K. and Kevin Hart and cost $75 million to make, has made $145.8 million worldwide so far.

How To Talk To Kids About Tragic Events:
After horrific events like mass shootings or attacks by terrorists, parents are faced with this dilemma: What do I tell my kids? How can I talk to them about something so senseless and indiscriminate? About something that we can’t make sense of ourselves?
“When we feel ourselves bombarded by images of brutal, ruthless violence and evidence of unbridled hate, the question of how to protect our children is a complex one,” said Dr. Claudia Gold, a pediatrician, infant mental health specialist and author of “The Silenced Child: From Labels, Medications, and Quick-Fix Solutions to Listening, Growth and Lifelong Resilience.” “We immediately jump to ask, ‘What do I say?’ ”
