CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) – Bishop Stephen Halton Sr. says the Cleveland Clinic has filed a lawsuit to avoid paying death benefits to his son’s widow and their six and eight-year-old children.

30-year-old Stephen Halton Jr., had been paged and was on his way to assist with an organ transplant on January 11, 2014, when he was shot and killed at an RTA bus stop on Lake Shore Avenue in Cleveland.
Bishop Halton, who worked at the Cleveland Clinic, himself, for 30 years, and is now retired from the hospital, says his son was technically on the clock when he was murdered.
“He got a call at 12 o’clock, so immediately at 12 midnight he was on call for Cleveland Clinic.
