WKYC Channel 3 learned late Monday night that there is a person of interest in the case of the fatal fire in Akron being held in the Portage County Jail.
The person of interest is the estranged husband of one of the victims. As she is remembered, new court documents reveal a marital past that investigators are combing through.
Angela Boggs was one of seven people killed in the Fultz Street fire. WKYC has been told that in 2001, Boggs’ then-husband doused her with kerosene and joked about lighting her house on fire.
Patrick Boggs is from Ravenna. He was put away for 12 years for arson, aggravated arson, and domestic violence charges. He was released in 2013.
