The Family of Alianna DeFreeze issued a letter of thanks to the men and women of the fourth district police station, Wednesday.

Alianna was found dead inside a Fuller Avenue home Jan. 29 after her mother reported her missing three days prior.

Her alleged killer, Christopher Whitaker, 44, was arrested four days after her body was found.

Whitaker, 44, has been indicted on four counts of aggravated murder, two counts of kidnapping, one count of rape, one count of aggravated burglary, one count of offense against a human corpse and one count of tampering with evidence.

The letter thanked all involved for their efforts in searching for Alianna, and locating her killer.

” To say thank you isn’t enough for all of the work and hour’s everyone put in but we thank you all so very much. There’s no word’s to explain the pain we feel with our loss but with God and wach other we will get through this.”
