Officials have confirmed that the second suspect wanted for shooting 4-year-old Carter Hill during a road rage incident has been arrested in Alabama.

Police arrested 21-year-old Leon Edwards in connection to the Aug. 7 incident.

On Wednesday, police made the first arrest in the case. Jonathon Smith, 20, was taken into custody.

According to police, the little boy was in a car with his mother and 7-year-old sister in a parking lot near West 28th Street and Division Avenue when the mother honked her horn at a car blocking the street. After waiting at least five minutes, the woman drove around the car and she says they followed her onto the freeway and started shooting.

The women stopped, got out on East 55th Street, and then called 911.

The boy was treated at University Hospital for a gunshot wound to his head. Police say he underwent surgery to remove bullet fragments, and  remains hospitalized at University Hospital in stable condition.
