You might not immediately link LeBron James and Octavia Spencer together in your mind. But you’d be mistaken to believe that there is no connection at all. In fact, the two are partnering together for a new project.
In his quest to expand his business outside of basketball, LeBron James is working on a new drama through his production company, SpringHill Entertainment.
According to Variety, Spencer is slated to star in this new series about the life of entrepreneur and activist Madam C.J. Walker. James is set to executive produce along with co-founder Maverick Carter.
Sources close to the project believe the series will find a home with Netflix as they are currently interested.
Nicole Asher is set to write and co-executive produce and Kasi Lemmons, best known for Eve’s Bayou, Talk to Me, and Black Nativity is set to direct.
