Angela Simmons opened up on We TV’s Growing Up Hip Hop season 4 premiere Thursday night about breaking off her engagement to Sutton Tennyson.
Simmons who has a one year old son with Sutton, shared her single mom struggles during one of her green screen confessionals. Angela also revealed that she tried to make her relationship work, but in the end she wasn’t happy.
“I just got to a place where I felt like I wasn’t happy, and I tried, and I tried, and I tried and I wanted it to work because the last thing I wanted to do was not be together with the person I had my child with,” Angela shared. “God had another plan for me.”
Opening up to her mom Valerie Simmons, Angela confessed that she never thought she would have a child out of wedlock. The fashion designer goes on to explain to her mom how she’s had to deal with folks judging her: “You’re Rev Run’s daughter,” “oh you’re not married,” and at the same time raise her one year old son in front of the world.
“People are always going to have an opinion, but you know what? I am not your opinion!”
