via Cleveland19:

Dan Dee Pretzel & Potato Chip employees have reported that the longtime Midwest company plans to close its doors in Cleveland as early as Saturday.

According to one employee, who asked not to be identified, the workers will not receive severance packages.

The source said the company is also announcing closings in New York, West Virginia, Indiana and parts of Michigan.

The company’s Google listing indicates the Cleveland location is permanently closed.

Employees have been asked to convene at the Dan Dee warehouse, located at 6091 Carey Drive, on Monday.

It’s not yet clear how many jobs could be lost when the company shutters.

Dan Dee was founded in 1913 when childhood friends Harry Albert Orr and Charles V. Pike began manufacturing and distributing pretzels by hand in Braddock, Penn.

Cleveland 19’s requests for comment from company officials regarding the closure have not been returned.
