Unsolved Mysteries will return to the small screen.

Deadline reports Netflix will reboot the true crime docuseries more than 30 years after it debuted on NBC. Stranger Things executive producer Shawn Levy is leading the revival through his company 21 Laps Entertainment, which has an overall deal with the streaming giant. The show’s original creators Terry Dunn Meurer and John Cosgrove are also attached . The former will share the showrunner title with Robert Wise; the latter will executive produce alongside Levy, Wise, and Josh Barry.

According to the outlet, the revamped series will follow a similar format to the original: using documentary-style re-enactments of real-life mysteries, such as unexplained history, cold case murders, missing persons, and paranormal events. The new Unsolved Mysteries will hit Netflix with 12 episodes, each of which will focus on only one mystery.

Meurer and Cosgrove expressed their interest in rebooting the show back in 2017, claiming they had “excellent” stories that were ready to be shared. “We are actively talking to a couple of broadcasters who have shown interest, and we’re very optimistic that we’ll have something by way of new episodes by the end of the year,” they wrote in a Reddit AMA. “It’s too early to go into much detail, but we’ve had our research producers look into possible stories, and they’ve found some excellent ones which can be ready to go quickly.”
