Herbert Williams, the last surviving brother and owner of the Hot Sauce Williams Barbeque restaurants, has passed away at the age of 82.

Williams and his brothers founded the restaurant more than 50 years ago. The iconic eateries, located on Lee Road and Superior Avenue, are known for their award winning barbeque and soul foo

The restaurant’s Carnegie Avenue location closed last year.

Hot Sauce Williams has not only been a Cleveland-must stop, but has fans all around the nation, including President Bill Clinton, Mike Tyson, and the late Otis Redding.

According to his obituary, Williams died in the early morning hours of January 23, with his wife by his side.

Visitation will be on Friday, February 1 at the Calhoun Funeral Home on 23000 Rockside Road in Bedford Heights from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
