The debate and outrage surrounding the B. Smith story doesn’t look like it’s going anywhere, any time soon. Mostly because people can’t seem to stop talking about it.

According to PEOPLEthe women of “The View” shared their takes on B. Smith, her husband and caretaker Dan Gasby’s new younger, whiter girlfriend, Alex Lerner, and the way the whole situation is playing out for the public to see.

Whoopi Goldberg took issue with the way Gasby has exposed Smith and her condition.

“I didn’t want to see B look like that. I didn’t need to see that.”

And Sunny Hostin, who said she is a friend of Smith and Gasby’s, criticized Lerner for having a bedroom in Smith’s home and visiting on weekends.

“I find it very disrespectful that he is with his wife and disrespecting her by being with his girlfriend in their home.”

But Dana Gasby, Smith’s 32-year-old stepdaughter and caretaker along with her father, fully supports his relationship. She said Hostin shouldn’t be so quick to use the friend moniker.

“These fraudulent friends know nothing. I have not seen them here. They don’t call my family. I see them talking on TV and how do you know what your supposed ‘friend’ would want?”

Dana moved back in with her parents three years ago to help take care of Smith, who she describes as a “physically strong toddler who speaks in gibberish.” She said perhaps Whoopi took issue with seeing Smith in this condition because of her own fears.

She wondered were Whoopi’s comments “because you’re getting older and not happy with your health or whatever and you decide it’s not ok? Guess what—this is what aging is.”

What do you think about calling B. Smith your friend on television but not visiting her? What do you make of Dana Gasby’s defense of her father?
